Atlas Copco executives in attendance included Magnus Gyllo, Board Commissioner of Atlas Copco in Indonesia, Andrew Lyon, Regional General Manager of Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation South East Asia, Robin Stephens, Director of Atlas Copco Fluidcon and Noel Avila, Director of Atlas Copco Indonesia. They were joined by more than 100 invited guests, including customers, suppliers and media.

“ This new Parts and Service Distribution Center should make it possible for us to exceed our customers’ expectations ,” commented Stephens. “ We believe that this new building will contribute to sustainable productivity for our customers, and that it demonstrates our commitment to both our customers and our employees in Kalimantan and Sulawesi .”

 
The new facility, known officially as the Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Kalimantan Parts Distribution, Remanufacturing & Training Center, is also a sign of the progress achieved after the integration of Atlas Copco with Fluidcon in early 2011. Approximately 64 employees will work out of the new building. The facility’s modern design incorporates all functions from Atlas Copco Fluidcon’s two previous buildings with the addition of more than 50 percent more space for future growth.

“ This investment by Atlas Copco in Kalimantan indicates a new level of commitment to the PT Atlas Copco Fluidcon name, and the other brands represented by the Atlas Copco Group ,” added Stephens. “ We recognize that this level of commitment is required to achieve our goal of being ‘First in Mind—First in Choice .’”

As part of the overall ceremony, Stephens donated a gift of basic food and other goods to the local community on behalf of Atlas Copco Fluidcon as an expression of thanks for the city’s support.
