Atlas Copco Fluidcon announces new Parts and Service Center facility in Balikpapan, Indonesia
December 1, 2011 – Jakarta, Indonesia – Atlas Copco Fluidcon today announced the opening of a new, 6,300 square meter building in Balikpapan, Indonesia, including office space and one of the largest Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation workshops in Asia.The ceremony was attended and inaugurated by the Mayor of Balikpapan City in East KalimantanBapak Rizal Effendi and Police Grand Commissioner Adjudant Y. Sumedi.

Atlas Copco executives in attendance included Magnus Gyllo, Board Commissioner of Atlas Copco in Indonesia, Andrew Lyon, Regional General Manager of Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation South East Asia, Robin Stephens, Director of Atlas Copco Fluidcon and Noel Avila, Director of Atlas Copco Indonesia. They were joined by more than 100 invited guests, including customers, suppliers and media.

The new facility, known officially as the Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Kalimantan Parts Distribution, Remanufacturing & Training Center, is also a sign of the progress achieved after the integration of Atlas Copco with Fluidcon in early 2011. Approximately 64 employees will work out of the new building. The facility’s modern design incorporates all functions from Atlas Copco Fluidcon’s two previous buildings with the addition of more than 50 percent more space for future growth.

As part of the overall ceremony, Stephens donated a gift of basic food and other goods to the local community on behalf of Atlas Copco Fluidcon as an expression of thanks for the city’s support.
